The leaders of the Action Alliance (AA) in the South West have met and taken a position towards strengthening the party’s influence to produce govenors in the six states of the geo-political zone.
This was contained in a communique signed and made available to journalists after a meeting of the AA Southwest party leaders in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to the communique, the meeting tagged “Dawning of a New Era” was attended by national officers of the party from the zone and led by the National Chairman, Dr. Adekunle Omoaje, and the National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of the party, Joshua Adewole.
The meeting, which was an epic occasion to reconnect all party faithfuls in the South West, focused on revitalizing the party in all six states in the zone.
The highlight of the meeting as stated in the communique, included the reception of a formidable political group, the National Liberation Patriot (NLP), led by Prof. Mohammed Omolaja. It further stated that the NLP is a group that has had political influence across Nigeria with robust membership over the years.
This fusion was a boost to the expansion project of the Action Alliance which promises to be highly crucial in the development plans of the party.
Furthermore, the communique stated that the meeting also welcomed the membership of the Great Vision (GV), led by their convener, who is also the Osun State Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Yinka Oni, accompanied by other prominent leaders and members of the state executive of the SDP, who all joined the Action Alliance.
The influential political groups that joined the party gave an assurance of their commitment to the party’s revitalization and expansion across the six states of the Southwest geo-political zone.
As part of the agenda of the meeting which has party leaders from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti States in attendance, the party’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State, Abdullahi Olowookere, was duly recognized.
Speaking at the well-attended meeting, the visibly elated National Chairman of the party, Dr. Omoaje, vowed to encourage other zones to learn from the Southwest’s initiative and strategically organize themselves in their respective zones.
While making a prophetic declaration that the party candidate, Abdullahi Olowookere, will emerge as the next governor of the Sunshine State, Dr. Omoaje affirmed that it is the turn of the young erudite politician to steer the ship of leadership in Ondo State.
On his part, the National Vice Chairman of the party in charge of Southwest, Joshua Adewole, told the gathering that the meetings of the zone will henceforth be held and will rotate among the states concerned.
